“I think of you often” is the phrase written on the front of the card that Holly’s Grandmom sent her after her surgery. Holly is pictured above with this card, looking at us as we were telling her what it said. In some ways, it’s difficult to comprehend that it has been 5 years since we kissed and hugged our beautiful Holly. In other ways, it feels like it’s been a lifetime since we last saw her. We talk about her goofy antics and her big beautiful Berner smile quite frequently.
We can only hope that she is smiling down as our little guardian angel as she watched us navigate through these past 5 years. Sadly, Holly’s sister Jessie, crossed the bridge on June 20th, just a few weeks ago. We are sure that Holly was there, with Ace, to greet her at the Rainbow Bridge. The three of them are pictured together, above. We know that they are all together again, playing, running and now healthy as they watch over us together.
The video below is of Holly, approximately 10 days post op, running around out front on a long leash. This was before she showed us that she could do all the steps (we had 12 at the time) down to the backyard all by herself, without our help, during a huge snowstorm. For those that wonder if their large breed dogs will be ok on three, Holly taught us very quickly that being a bigger pup on three was fine with her.
Holly, we hope that you are getting tons of belly rubs, bones, bully sticks and treats up at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again, sweet girl. We love you and continue to think of you often.
